Complete parts sizing guide
Part size changes the density, installation time and final look. Larger parts suit faster, statement styles; smaller parts create more detail and fuller coverage.
Large
Back: 2 rows · 2–3 braids
Top: 3 rows
Best for quick installations and thick hair.
Medium
Back: 2 rows · 3–4 braids
Top: 5 rows
Best for standard braiding and balanced detail.
Small / Micro
Back: 3–4 rows · 5–8+ braids
Top: 7–9+ rows
Best for intricate detail and maximum coverage.
Hair preparation
Arrive with detangled, clean hair unless your appointment instructions say otherwise. A clean base helps parting, grip and longevity.
Professional tools we use
Braiding European / straight hair
Straighter, silkier hair can be harder to grip and may not hold as long as textured hair. We adapt product, tension and technique to protect the scalp. At home, use a silk scarf or bonnet and mousse to keep braids fresh.
